Submissions

Bee Hill Road, Sunset 11.17.12 (facing East)Do you really want to read through pages of stipulations just to submit your article here?  We follow the K.I.S.S. criteria for submissions (Keep It Super Simple!)

Most readers do not have the time to wade through long rambling articles or essays.  This is not the New Yorker or the New York Review of Books . K.I.S.S. again: Keep It Super Short.

We’d like to have pieces emailed to us in either Word or RTF formats.  If you have images, please send them as JPEGs.  Authors are expected to disclose any conflicts of interest and we will not publish any piece that smacks of self-promotion or commercialism.

Short abstracts are really helpful and tags will aid in indexing your article. Tags are typically one to two-word labels that describe your post’s content (psoriasis, Lyme Disease, etc.). 5-15 tags is a good number. You can browse our tag index here.

Reference sections that appear at the end of scholarly articles are distracting and cumbersome.  In the heat of perusing the text, the reader suddenly finds herself disengaged as she is forced to break from the written line to hunt for the footnote. We encourage our authors to use hyperlinks to provide readers with immediate reference sources without having to detour through traditional footnotes or endnotes.  If a standard reference is unavailable online, there is no recourse but to document it in the traditional bibliography or reference format.

Fees: OJCPCHC is not funded in any way and we don’t seek or need grants.  It will take less than an hour to upload most pieces.

This is an experimental journal.  It should be fun for creators, authors and readers alike.  OJCPCHC aspires be a source of intellectual stimulation, a creative outlet for authors and an educational opportunity for all stakeholders.

Your submissions can be sent to OJCPCHC.

We will learn as we progress. Let the games begin!
